Adidas Group operate some of the world’s largest sports apparel brands. Its entire culture is hard-wired for progression but its intranet was not living up to that expectation.
Hidden away amongst the IT group in the German town of Herzogenaurach, one manager had a huge vision to reinvigorate this failing intranet into a high-performance global collaboration environment. The problem was, his idea was struggling to gain traction.
Freely were engaged to conduct stakeholder research and develop a strategic roadmap that would help generate support for the programme and guide subsequent information architecture, user journey mapping, and visual design.
With a more thorough strategic vision in place, the new platform was developed using Microsoft Sharepoint 2013. The concept for a new ‘digital workplace’ finally became a reality called ‘a-LIVE’ and adidas Group’s 46,000 employees use it every day.
